Presentation Evening Photos
A very successful presentation evening was held on Saturday 8th October at
the Masonic hall in Botley. There were 57 booked in for the evening but
unfortunately a couple of those had to cancel on the night due to illness, which was sad to see happen. A very nice meal was enjoyed by all present and then all the club awards were presented to the deserving winners and
runners up. A big thank you to Mike Matthews for the hard word in getting
the engraving on the awards done and sorting out all the various prizes and
winners etc. The raffle that followed was in aid of the MNDA (Motor
Neurone) charity and we raised an amazing £176.00. A big thankyou to Jean Cleeve and Jean Rowe for their hard work in selling the tickets and
displaying prizes. Finally thank you to all those who attended and a big
thank you to my wife Jeanne for the computer work on the table names and table plan etc. All in all a very good evening was enjoyed by all.

Proposal S&DBA and S&DWBA for a Mixed Triples League
Following years of discussion and many meetings the proposal for a Mixed Triples League is moving a step forward.
Current discussions relate to the possible introduction of a Mixed Triples League in 2023.
It is not intended that this proposed League replaces any existing competition, but is an additional one.
A questionnaire has been circulated to clubs to gauge a suitable slot for the competition in the busy playing week.
Just to confirm the main points of discussions thus far:
. both Associations are wanting the mixed triples league to go ahead as soon as practicable, hopefully in 2023
. the proposed format is that each fixture will be of 2 teams each of mixed triples from each club
. from the S&DWBA point of view, initially, it will run as an experiment, outside the Rules (constitution) and reviewed after the first season
. it is essential that it has the support of both Associations who will each have joint responsibility for its organisation and development
